About Me

Hello there! I'm Alex Philippe, a software engineer turned longevity explorer. My mission is to cut through the hype and make the science of healthy aging clear, practical, and fun.

My journey into longevity started in an unlikely place: Instagram. I know, not the best source of medical truth, but we all start somewhere, right? Initially, a post about a 2015 Finnish study on sauna bathing caught my attention: men using the sauna 4-7 times per week had about a 40% lower risk of all-cause mortality than those going once a week. That one fact changed how I looked at health.

I dove into books like Young Forever and Lifespan. Looking back, some claims didn’t hold up under scrutiny, but at the time, they introduced me to key ideas: biological aging clocks, the role of inflammation in aging, nutrient-rich diets, and promising — yet still developing — therapies like cellular reprogramming.

Alongside my reading, I started eating better, training regularly, using the sauna and cold showers, and joined a local longevity group. There, I learned how easy it is to spread misleading health claims without realizing it, especially on social media, and I often fell into the trap.

Over time, I discovered that the longevity field is full of hype and contradictions. The field can feel like a maze: one piece of advice contradicting the next. Yet among the noise, established facts do exist, and they can meaningfully extend our healthy years.

That's why I created Longeo Reads: to cut through the noise and highlight the most helpful, evidence-based books on longevity. From foundational habits like sleep, exercise, and nutrition to cutting-edge interventions, my goal is to make the science practical and clear.

I hope Longeo helps you skip the confusion, embrace what works, and enjoy the longest, healthiest life you can!
